Convergence

About 800 sq. ft., Latex and Aerosol mural

Xavier High School, NYC.

For the Class of 2025’s senior gift, I was commissioned to paint a mural in the most central part of the school: The Quad. As a former student at the school, it was an honor coming back to share my art with the school and students. I held three conversation sessions with the students to learn about them, what they care about and what they wanted to see on the wall.

The mural focuses on four key aspects of the Xavier experience: Brotherhood, the Self, Faith and Education, Sports and Activities at the school. Elements around the mural fit into these categories and also fit into this idea of “convergence”. Students go to Xavier to learn and leave to live lives for others. The piece, then, is about that coming and going.
